Skincare Routine
I keep it pretty simple when it comes to my skincare regimen. I would describe my skin as being more on the drier side and I rarely break out *insert praise hands* Because of this I tend to stick to gentle products more on the natural side, and stay away from products that contain salicylic acid or any ingredients of that nature that are supposed to keep break outs at bay. I find if I do use products like that, they just dry me out even more and it’s just unnecessary. With that being said, here are some of my holy grail products that I cannot go a day without.
I have had my Clarisonic for awhile now and if I’m being honest, I typically only use it a few times a month. If I use it too often it does tend to dry my skin out like I mentioned earlier. It’s awesome though for whenever you need to get a deep clean and definitely helps make me feel fresh again. You can shop it HERE and it is $129. P.s. It also comes in a baby pink and hot pink color, CUTE!
Another product that I’ve been using for as long as I can remember is this Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. This is the only cleanser that I have stuck with over the years just because I love how it makes my skin feel and it’s so gentle. Even though it is basically the same thing, I also like using the Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar. (And yes, it’s literally just a bar of soap lol)
Not that this matters at all, but typically if I’m washing my face at my sink I’ll use the facial cleanser and if I’m washing my face in the shower I’ll use the bar. Fun fact. That’s just how it goes lol.
Now onto a product I seriously could not live without. Drum roll please.
This GlamGlow Thirsty Mud Hydrating Treatment has changed. my. life.
I get it at Sephora and it is $69 for this 1.7 oz container, which is pretty pricey but so worth it! It does last a long time though and I use it every single day. I ended up getting it last year when I saw a youtuber who had dry skin recommend it as an everyday moisturizer to put on before your makeup. When I bought it all the girls at Sephora told me it was more of a face mask (because it is) and that they wouldn’t recommend putting it on before your makeup. The rebel I am did it anyways though and haven’t looked back since.
I have never found any other product that hydrates as well as this does, plus it smells AMAZING. I apply it every day before my foundation and I think it even helps my makeup last longer throughout the day as well. If I could only buy one product for the rest of my life this would definitely be it. They also have many other “masks” such as a brightening treatment, firming treatment, overnight treatment, and the list goes on and on and on. I have yet to try any of the other ones though just because I am so crazy about this one! I’ll link the GlamGlow site here so you can go check out all their products if you’re interested! 🙂
Now onto one of my favorite parts about skincare: FACE MASKS!
Face masks are definitely at the top of my list when it comes to my favorite things to do haha. Whenever I get to the face mask aisle at Ulta or Target I am literally like a kid in a candy store. The three above have been my go-to’s lately.
This Origins Charcoal Mask is slowly but surely running out, it’s almost time to restock! You can get it at Ulta for $27. This seriously makes your skin SO SMOOTH. I spread it all over my face until I look like a crazy person, let it sit for about 20 minutes or so to let it harden, then run a wash cloth under warm water and scrub my face until it’s all off. You kind of have to be pretty rough to get it off but like I said, once you’re done your skin feels so soft and perfect!
I just recently got into paper masks and oh how I love them! They definitely make you look terrifying though. Think Michael Myers from Halloween with that white mask on. If you decide to do one of these then you and him will be twinning.
I love this soothing mask because it makes me feel so hydrated once I take it off. I also tend to have really red cheeks sometimes so this helps tone it down on those days I look like a tomato! If you go to Target (atleast that’s where I always go) then they have a whole section of different paper masks like this, take your pick!
It was literally last month when I decided to try a peel mask for the first time. PRO TIP: Don’t put it on your eyebrows because it will rip them out. My friend actually did that hahaha.
Formula 10.0.6 has a ton of different peel masks. You can find them at Ulta! There’s seriously a bottle of every color and every scent. It’s on my list to buy them all, but I first started off with his Be Berry Smooth Moisturizing Peel Mask. It smells like berries and I am obsessed. It’s also only $7 so it won’t break the bank! I was kind of scared the first time I tried this one because basically I am a baby and I didn’t want to rip my eyebrows out lol. Spoiler: I survived and all is well. It did kind of hurt peeling it off but now it is one of my favorites to do. Another fun fact: I actually have this one on right now while writing this hehe.
I haven’t gotten this done in a few months but in the past I usually get regular Microdermabrasions at my dermatologist. They basically run this tool all over your face (it feels like a vacuum kind of) and tiny crystals exfoliate the skin and it leaves your skin feeling softer and brighter. So it is just an exfoliation and skin rejuvenation procedure. I tend to wear a lot of makeup so it’s easy for my skin to become kind of dull or just feel build up so I love love love getting this done! For all my local girls, I go to Skinnovations in Plano and they’re awesome if you want to look into it!
Thanks so much for reading! Have a good day!
