Starfish Project
Happy Friday!
I’m super excited for today’s post because I get to tell you about a company that I have absolutely fallen in love with! I found out about Starfish Project a few weeks ago and as soon as I learned the meaning behind the organization I knew it was something I’d want to support. Starfish Project is an organization that helps and cares for women escaping human trafficking and exploitation in Asia.
They provide life-changing opportunities for these women through care programs and have created a business where the women are able to create beautiful jewelry and master other working tasks. They are provided with shelter, counseling, and the opportunity for employment and education. There’s a super emotional video on their website that shows how they got started, where they rescued some of the women, and also includes some testimonies. I’ll link it HERE if you want to watch it, which I really recommend. It is easy for us to have issues like this be put “out of sight, out of mind”, but after watching the video and seeing the faces of girls who have been abused by this issue, it really compelled me to want to help make a difference.
Because of this, I have decided to partner with Starfish Project to help bring more awareness to their organization and the issue of human trafficking altogether. Not only does it support a good cause but their jewelry is absolutely gorgeous! Whenever I had the opportunity to pick out a few pieces I wanted to highlight, it was seriously so hard because I wanted to choose it all! Haha

This necklace that I have on is the Katie; Tri-Strand Turquoise Necklace and I am absolutely obsessed! Another cool thing about the website is that it lets you know directly what your purchase for each specific piece of jewelry is equal to. For example, the purchase of this necklace is equal to the cost of 1 week of counseling. There is also a Stories of Hope tab that dedicates a page to each woman which shows their name, birthday, when they arrived at Starfish Project, their job title, and their overall story. It is super interesting seeing everything these women have had to endure and how their life has completely changed for the better. Plus, you can specifically donate to a certain woman and even write them a personalized note!
Once my other pieces come in, which I’m so excited to show y’all, I plan to start doing weekly posts highlighting the stories of hope because I think it is so important to give light to these women and show how much of an impact Starfish Project has made.
